About Me

I started playing the oboe with Richard Killmer, Professor of Oboe at the Eastman School of Music. Four years later, I had a degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Minnesota. I went on to receive my Masters in Oboe Performance at Northwestern University as a fellowship student of Ray Still, retired Principal Oboe of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I became Principal Oboe of the Chicago Civic Symphony and then went on to a professional career as an Oboe and English Horn player in the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

I retired from The United States Marine Band “The President’s Own” in Washington, D.C. after 21 years of service, playing for dignitaries and many famous musicians such as John Williams. My long professional career has taught me how to be a master reed maker and serve your reed making needs for all levels of playing. I freelance in the Washington D.C. area and am married with 2 children who also play instruments. I look forward to making reeds for you.
